PIA’s Cargo performance Award ceremony held
Karachi 22 December 2008: “Pakistan international Airlines is committed to provide quality service to its valued customers” this was stated by Director Marketing PIA, Mr. Salahuddin while addressing an impressive Cargo Performance Award 2007 ceremony organized by PIA at a local hotel in Karachi.
He further stated that in order to be competitive in the international market, expansion in the operational areas is always productive and cost effective for maximization of revenues within available resources. In view of this, PIA has undertaken policy of expansion in emerging market of Europe and Far East and is considering expansion of its operation to Spain in Europe and Guangzhou – China in Far East.
Top ten cargo agents were presented PIA’s Business Performance Awards 2007 by Mr. Salahuddin, Director Marketing PIA.
General Manager Cargo Service PIA, Mr. Mamoon Rashid said that PIA has floated Commercial Rebated Cargo (CRC) rates on all major sectors, despite of increase in cargo rates by IATA.
He said that Cargo Agents are considered as partners of the national flag carriers. PIA is aware that due to economic trickle down, both partners have experienced a lot of challenges and acknowledges the efforts of the Cargo Agents to support and patronize the national carriers during tough times.
The Cargo Agents were also informed that Special Prorate Agreement (SPAs) have been concluded with major European carriers to have access to the offline points where PIA’s operation does not exists, specially in Eastern Europe. PIA has also joined hand with carriers operating to Africa to boost country’s exports by having SPAs through non-cargo routes from Pakistan to Bombay, Delhi and Kathmandu.
Later on, Awards for best performance were distributed by Mr. Salahuddin, Director Marketing PIA.
