HOLIDAY IN THAILAND
Beaches & Islands:
Thailand's long coastline, which stretches from Cambodia in the east, across the Gulf of Siam and south on both sides of the southern isthmus to Malaysia, is full of superb beaches, coves, bays and mangrove swamps. Adding to this beauty are numerous islands, some already well developed as tourist destinations while others remain unspoiled and in certain cases uninhabited. On the western side of the southern Thai peninsula is Phuket, the country's most famous and largest island.
Leisure Activities:
Thai folks are fun-loving people. You can join them in their major interests like, Pai Thieo (travelling), indoor games like cards, chess, cock-fighting, Takraw, kite flying and the unique martial art of Thai boxing, played during temple fairs. Similarly you can take pleasure in water sports like sailing, boating, sea canoeing, scuba diving, sport fishing, surfing, jet- skiing, water-skiing and parasailing.
If you get fatigued and want relaxation, you should head towards a Thai spa. There you can have a traditional Thai massage with heated herbal and aroma oils. Thailand's floating market, lying at a distance of about 101 km to the west of Bangkok will give you a real image of daily life in earlier times.
You can also cherish your mind spiritually by visiting a Buddhist Temple; must-sees are Golden Buddha and Emerald Buddha.
Eating Out:
When it comes to reasons why you should try a holiday in Thailand, the people, weather and spectacular scenery are only rivaled by the fabulous food, which is cheap, spicy, and available everywhere. It's based around rice, noodles, vegetables, and seafood, all spiced up with chilies, garlic, lemon grass, coriander and fish sauce.
Shopping:
Visiting Thailand is like entering a veritable paradise of shopping temptations, stacked high with all kinds of wonderful things which can not be seen anywhere else. Wherever you turn, the exquisite skills of Thai craftmen are evident. Bangkok's most popular exports are its lustrous and shimmering Thai silk and silk products, jewellery, celadon pottery, lacquer ware, masks, carvings and antiques. Thais’ natural artistic talents are to be seen in many other products. Handmade umbrellas are among the most popular purchases. If a price seems too steep, chances are you can talk it down.
Nightlife:
Thailand is rightly famous for its nightlife. The kingdom has some of the best clubs playing the latest music, and not all of them in the capital -_ Thailand’s islands like Phuket, Pattaya and Koh Samui host world-class music venues and events like “Full Moon Parties”.
