PIA Cargo is a reliable name in the shipment of commercial cargo. The name is well established. PIA commenced cargo operations in 1974, with flights to USA, Europe, and Hong Kong on the B-707 aircraft. PIA Cargo even has the unique distinction of introducing Pakistan's fruits to international markets and also pioneered the exports of fresh fruits and vegetables to global destinations, including popularizing the king of fruit Mango in markets abroad.
Operating as the air freight division of Pakistan's national carrier, PIA Cargo has achieved rapid growth and reaches out to destinations spanning the globe through its passenger scheduled flights & varied SPA partners.
PIA Cargo earns valuable revenue for Pakistan International Airlines and provides a massive boost to Pakistan's wide spectrum of exports. The aggressive growth of PIA Cargo coupled with PIA's rapidly expanding passenger operations empowers customers with a range of cutting-edge cargo services.
In addition to offering cargo services, PIA Cargo also arranges (on demand) charter flights to lift meat, livestock and relief goods within and outside Pakistan.
Commodities
PIA Cargo transports a range of commodities across Pakistan as well to a number of global destinations.
The commodities that PIA Cargo ships range from edibles such as meat, seafood, seasonal fruits, vegetables, to textiles, paper products, laboratory/surgical equipment, cars, aircraft parts, heavy machinery and human remains.

PIA Cargo also specializes in the uplift of special cargo such as relief goods, live animals (sheep, cows, camels, horses) and medical supplies. In addition to direct cargo flights, PIA Cargo also provides feeder service (via road) for the transportation of client’s freight to final destination (i.e. points which are not directly covered by PIA flights).
This is done through exclusive trucking arrangements with third parties. We have TL & LTL options available* with varied partners. These options help facilitate our clients across multiple destinations:

Pakistan Post is a valuable client, offering postal services to every nook and corner of Pakistan through an impressive network of around 13,000 post offices. Pakistan Post is thus, paramount in providing delivery services to about 20 million households and businesses located in Pakistan. The National Flag Carrier is honored to join hands with the PPA in disseminating its services across Pakistan & even abroad.
Alhamdolillah! PIA has won the contract for Domestic Postal Delivery for the year 2018/2019 & shall be PPA’s key partner in the delivery of parcels, mails and posts (Express/LC && AO) to over 16 domestic destinations across Pakistan.
It is also Pakistan’s Postal Authority’s valued partner in 2018/2019 for International Postal delivery as well, seamlessly delivering Priority mail (including (LC/AO/CP/EMS & empty mail bags) to all destinations currently on the PIA flight network and to offline points as well, through its cooperation with its key SPA Partners. HOW TO BECOME PIA’S CARGO SPA PARTNER:
PIA is anxious to expand its cargo footprint globally by inking SPA partnerships which can be mutually beneficial.
Basic pre-requisites based upon which we may further evaluate a potential Cargo Interline / SPA arrangement requires two basic pre-requisites:
- Potential partner must be IATA member & must have active ICH membership (IATA Clearing House)
- Cargo MITA/BITA (either one) must be active and in place.
